Artist Research

For this brief I wanted to find an artist that related to the art movements I picked, Art Programmata and Concrete Art. I found Piet Mondrain, he was known for his 1920s-1930’s concrete art he was an abstract artist. He was also the inventor of Neo-Plasticism, ‘one of the major pioneers of pure abstract art’- http://www.visual-arts-cork.com/,(30/10/16). I believe this artist fits with both art movements as of course he has done Concrete Art but like Art Programmatta is colour palette is almost monochromatic and abstract.

Examples of his work;

Composition II in Red, Blue, and Yellow, 1930 by Piet MondrianComposition No. 10 Pier and Ocean, 1915 by Piet Mondrian

Broadway Boogie-Woogie, 1942 by Piet Mondrian

Composition: Checkerboard, Dark Colors, 1919 by Piet Mondrian
